Is our second biggest night of the weekend and it's carnival time in Canberra. Come and celebrate he centuries old tradition of New Orleans Mardi Gras, dress bright and enjoy the swingin' sounds of the live band and some of Australia's best swing dance demonstrations.. So come dressed up in your brightest formal or masquerade colours for a festival of a night.

This is our biggest night of the weekend and it is the Mobsters Ball. Dress in your best suit and flapper dress and come listen to two 20 piece big bands as they battle it our in this iconic hall. With some of Australia's best swing dance performances, taster classes, stalls and more this will be the event of the year!

Our Friday night and Saturday night balls feature free swing dance taster classes so if youve never done any swing dancing or any dancing at all before and would like to learn, the taster classes are the perfect enviroment to have up on the floor and having fun

Canberrng now in its 9th year is Canberras festival of swing. It is an annual event held by Jumptown Swing, the Canberra society of Swing Dance. Canberräng draws in dancers from all across Australia and abroad. Along side the social dancing it features local and interstate musicians, performances, taster classes, balls and more, all held in various venues throughout Canberra over several days.

The name Canberräng is based on the Herräng Dance Camp in Sweden which is the worlds largest annual swing and jazz dance camp. Herrng focuses on African American Jazz dances such as Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, Boogie Woogie & Tap so if cant go to Herrng come to the next best thing - Canberräng

Canberräng is one of Australias premier swing dance exchanges. A swing dance exchange also known as a lindy exchange is a gathering of swing dancers (lindy hop dancers) in a city for several days. Swing dancing is primarily a social dance and exchanges encourage the local and wider swing dance community get together, travel and experience the different dance styles, venues, music and more of the local host city.
